The 55th fatal accident reportedly took place last weekend, when 51-year-old Cheryl L. Kuntz and her motorcycle were discovered near Wirth Lake. Kuntz had suffered fatal head trauma and abdominal injuries, according to the Hennepin County medical examiner's office and Golden Valley police. A pickup truck carrying two passengers made a left turn from the westbound lanes of Government Boulevard when Smith's motorcycle struck the truck, Rains said. Smith was thrown from the motorcycle. The passengers in the pickup truck were transported to hospitals, where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, Rains said. Police are still investigating the crash.

The driver of the car, a 25-year-old woman, was not injured. According to witnesses, the light turned red and both vehicles entered the intersection at 3900 South and 900 East . on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013 to the intersection of McGraft Park Road and Glen Avenue, according to information authorized by Public Safety Director Jeffrey Lewis. Officers found Orlando Vela, 49, of Norton Shores suffering from critical injuries because of the crash, police said. Vela was riding the motorcycle without a helmet. He was pronounced dead at Hackley Hospital, police said. The driver of the automobile was Bernice Patricio, 36, of Mount Pleasant.

Sgt. Jason Halifax says the crash happened just before 7 a.m. Thursday at an intersection in northeast Des Moines. About 20 students were on the bus. A few North High School students and the bus driver were taken to a police office for interviews while the other children were moved to another bus and driven to school. Counselors were available to talk with students about the crash. Police were withholding the name of the motorcycle rider until relatives could be notified.

A trooper traveling east on the road came across the crash site shortly before 10:30 p.m. Sunday. The motorcycle operator was lying in the roadway near a Harley Davidson motorcycle on its side a short distance past the Longfellow Bridge. The trooper called for medical assistance, but the man had died of his injuries. He was wearing a helmet. The man in his 40s has been tentatively identified but police are withholding his name pending confirmation by family. Investigators are attempting to determine the cause and circumstances of the crash, but investigators observed scrape marks on the pavement, the curb, and a Jersey barrier near the end of a tight curve in the roadway.

Officers received calls about a downed motorcycle on the 134 Freeway near the transition to the 5 Freeway at 6:37 a.m. Tuesday. CHP Officer Francisco Villalobos said the motorcycle was found down in lanes and the male driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The man was described as being in his late 20s or early 30s, but Villalobos could not provide immediately additional details on the crash, which he said is under investigation. Villalobos said it was not clear if other vehicles were involved, but no additional injuries have been reported. The crash forced closure of all but the far left lane and backed up westbound traffic past the 2 Freeway, Villalobos said.

FHP spokesperson Sgt. Kim Montes says 20-year old Michael Nealy was southbound on I-95 at around 6:40 Monday evening, in the left lane of the interstate. Troopers say Nealy attempted to travel across all of the southbound lanes, to exit onto the US-92 [International Speedway Boulevard] exit ramp. The FHP says Nealy lost control of his motorcycle and struck a guardrail. Troopers reported that Nealy was ejected from the motorcycle, and though he was wearing a helmet, died at the scene of the accident. Volusia County Fire Services and Daytona Beach Fire Department units responded to the accident and the Florida Highway Patrol shutdown the exit ramp during their investigation. Nealys hometown in North Carolina was not initially available.

The DPW did their traffic study out here and determined that what needs to happen is that Cottage needs to be widened because people come up Cottage, go up Berkshire, and people will be able to take a right coming up Cottage to Berkshire, and people will also be able to take a left, said City Councilor Bud Williams. The street widening would also alleviate the traffic it causes on Cottage that neighbors say sometimes backs up to Smith and Wesson. The DPW is still in the planning phase of the project theyd first mentioned in March. Police are not releasing the name of the motorcyclist or the Uhaul driver just yet. They also say they have not charged that driver yet.
