Man killed in motorcycle crash
A 25-year-old man died in an early morning motorcycle crash in Brevard County . Florida Highway Patrol troopers said the man, from Mississippi, was riding westbound across the Pineda Causeway when he lost control on a curve. According to troopers, the man's motorcycle went off the road and crashed into a barrier wall. The rider, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown from the bike into a guardrail. Florida Highway Patrol troopers closed the westbound lanes of the causeway for several hours while they investigated the 1 a.m. accident.. All of the lanes were reopened around 5:45 a.m. Troopers have not released the identity of the rider.

4, 2013, 1:44 p.m. EST AP KAKLASKA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) Authorities in the northern Lower Peninsula say an 11-year-old boy was killed when his motorcycle crashed on a road in Kalkaska County. Sheriff David Israel says the accident happened as Tyler Antaya of Alba, his twin brother and father were riding on a two-track road. The site is on state land in Kalkaska Township, about 20 miles east of Traverse City. Israel says Tyler was wearing a helmet. 
Franklin Grant, 42, was killed when the 2008 Suzuki GSX 1300 R motorcycle he was operating left the roadway and struck a mailbox and brick wall. The crash occurred at 1:30 a.m. on Jug Factory Road two miles west of Tuscaloosa. There is no more information available at this time. Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate. 
Related I-275 eastbound near Route 52 was closed as crews worked to clear the scene. All lanes reopened by 6 p.m. Police said 58-year-old Larry Dickerson lost control and crashed. No other vehicles were involved in the accident. Dickerson was taken to UC Medical Center in serious condition with head and arm injuries. Police said they don't believe he was wearing a helmet. 
The crash occurred in the 10600 block of North Campus Boulevard near the Florida State College of Jacksonville North Campus when a motorcycle hit a Dodge Charger around 9 a.m. The motorcycle was traveling southbound on North Campus Boulevard as the Dodge Charger was exiting the east parking lot of Florida State College, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. The 82-year-old female driver of the Dodge Charger failed to see the motorcycle approaching and pulled into the motorcycle's path, JSO detailed. The 39-year-old motorcycle driver was ejected in the crash. The driver of the Charger and her 13-year-old passenger were not injured in the crash. The driver of the motorcycle was taken to UF Health Jacksonville with life-threatening injuries. An investigation is underway and charges could be pending against the 82-year-old driver. The crash is under investigation and there is no indication of alcohol and drug involvement in the crash.

Related Daily Press 2:07 p.m. EDT, November 1, 2013 A 49-year-old Hampton man was killed Friday morning in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash near the intersection of West Mercury Boulevard and Wickham Avenue, a police spokesman said. Police responded to the crash at about 6:15 a.m. and found Bruce E. Marshall in the road suffering from life-threatening injuries, said Sgt. Jason Price, a spokesman with the Hampton Police Division. He died on the way to the hospital, Price said. A preliminary investigation revealed Marshall was traveling westbound on a 2003 Honda motorcycle when he lost control. 
The accident occurred around 3:30 Saturday morning. The motorcyclist has been identified as 42-year-old David Spriggs of Owings, in Calvert County. about a vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 17. A motorcycle had been traveling south and it's operator was attempting to turn onto U.S. 17 when a pickup truck allegedly pulled out in front of it. Copeland said the motorcycle's driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. During an investigation, U.S. 17 southbound was closed, and traffic was re-routed down Morgan's Corner Road for about three hours. N.C. 
Gary Hartdorn, 53, and Mary Healey, 56, were riding a Suzuki 1500 Intruder motorcycle traveling eastbound on the interstate around 4:40 p.m. Hartdon lost control of the motorcyle near milepost 17.6 and crashed into the right guardrail, police said. Police found Hartdon and Healy on the right shoulder of the road and the motorcyle on the left. Hartdorn, of Brick Township, was pronounced dead at the scene. Healy, of Berlin in Camden County, was flown to Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune, where she died later that day, police said. So, even though the accident would never have occurred but for the negligence of Ms. Whiteman, and even though Oklahoma law does not require helmets, the insurance company will argue that Mr. Edens's own negligence caused or contributed to his injuries. The insurance company will then use this argument to leverage a reduced damage award.

The crash happened on SW Gatlin Blvd in the westbound lanes, on the 1300 block of Gatlin west of Savona and east of Bougainvillea. According to Port St. Lucie police, a 19 year old was driving a Suzuki Motorcycle west in the 1300 block of SW Gatlin Boulevard.

Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Andrew Novak says the motorcyclist was heading west on a curvy section of road around 5 p.m. Novak says the motorcyclist crossed a frosted bridge deck over Lolo Creek, the road curved the right, and that's when the man crossed the center line. An 86-year-old male driver was heading east, and we're told he tried to avoid the crash by swerving into the ditch, but the bike side-swiped the vehicle. The 41-year-old man was pronounced dead on-scene. The accident is still being investigated at this time. 
Their names are not yet being released by investigators. First responders lost about five minutes getting to the scene on Shaffers Church Road because the passerby who called in the incident just before 3 p.m. Saturday first provided a location near Seven Valleys Road. That's more than 6 miles from the actual location at Jefferson Road, according to the Jefferson Volunteer Fire Company. The passenger was flown to York Hospital, according to state police. No other vehicles were involved in the accident, and it is unclear what caused the Harley Davidson to veer off the roadway, state police said. Information about road conditions and whether the victims were wearing helmets also wasnt available Saturday evening. 
All four people traveling on the motorcycles died, as did Marjorie Smith, 68, of Johnstown, who was a passenger in the SUV, according to Franklin County coroner Jeffrey Conner. The motorcyclists were Douglas Hoffer Jr., 32, of Quarryville; Colleen Nesbitt, 27, of Gap; and David Russell, 67, and Michelle Russell, 53, both of Mount Joy. The crash happened Saturday afternoon in the south-central Pennsylvania community of Washington Township, not far from Waynesboro. According to Conner, the northbound SUV crossed the center line on Fort Ritchie Access Road for unknown reasons and hit the motorcycle driven by Hoffer. The SUV then spun around and was broadsided by the Russells' bike, he said in a statement. Conner would not comment on the relationships among the victims. Washington Township police released no further information about the accident on Sunday.

Troopers say 55-year old Ronald V. Salyer died at the scene of the crash, after his motorcycle was immediately engulfed in flames in the accident. The crash happened on U.S. 1 at County Road 304 at 9:50 Saturday night. The FHP says a van driven by a 65-year old man from Interlachen had been northbound on U.S. 1, and crossed into the southbound laneto avoid a collision with [a] stopped vehicle... at the intersection. 
It happened Wednesday night on SE Davis Road and SE Hare Road. Police say a 23-year-old man was driving a 2007 Yamaha Motorcycle on Davis Road and as he was passing other vehicles, he hit a 32-year-old woman driving a 2007 Acura. The man riding the motorcycle could not stop in time and collided with the left front part of the Acura that was turning onto Davis Road. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Acura was not injured. Police have not released their identities, and an investigation is ongoing.

Augustine ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- Two people were transported to the hospital Wednesday morning following a motorcycle accident in the 500 block of Anastasia Boulevard. According to a St. Johns County Fire and Rescue Facebook post, an unidentified man and woman were sent to Flagler Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Paramedics and firefighters arrived at the scene around 2:00 a.m.
