Motorcycle-van Accident Victims Identified

Wednesday. According to the Niagara County Sheriffs Office, an initial accident investigation by the NCSO indicates that the motorcycle was northbound on South Transit Road, when the minivan, which was at the Rapids Road intersection and facing south, turned in front of the motorcycle. The motorcycle struck the passenger side of the minivan and the driver and passenger of the motorcycle were ejected from the motorcycle. The minivan was operated by Jenine M. Szymanski, who was treated at the scene and released. The accident remains under investigation by the Niagara County Sheriffs Office Accident Investigation Unit. No charges were filed at this time.

Motorcyclist killed in Union crash was FDNY firefighter on way to work, police say

Robert Christie of the Union Township Police. The man was pronounced dead a short time later. The driver of the car was arrested under suspicion of drunken driving, Christie said. Criminal charges could be announced later today, he added. The police are still investigating the exact circumstances of the crash, the lieutenant said. Identities of the driver and the deceased are still being withheld, he said.

Veteran NYC Firefighter Killed In Motorcycle Crash In N.J.

NYC firefighter John Monteverde killed in motorcycle accident in Union Township, N.J. (credit: CBS 2) The 17-year-old was treated by paramedics of Rural/Metro Fire Department before he was airlifted by helicopter to University of Arizona Medical Center. A 911 caller reported the 2 p.m. accident, which occurred at milepost 14.5, said Deputy Tracy Suitt, a Pima County Sheriff's Department spokesman. Suitt said the condition of the teen was not known, but he was going in and out of consciousness while flown to the hospital. The highway will remain closed until about 5:30 p.m. while investigators work to determine the cause of the crash, Suitt said. Tags

Motorcycle crash closes Mount Lemmon highway

Engelhardt had been westbound on New York Avenue on a motorcycle, approaching Grand Avenue shortly before 7 Wednesday evening. Troopers say a pickup truck driven by a 78-year old Deland man pulled into the direct path of the motorcycle, after making a stop on Grand Avenue at New York Avenue.
