Witnesses saw the dust resulting from the incident, though not the accident itself, and went to render aid, according to Cannon. Robbs was in and out of consciousness, having sustained head injuries, cuts and abrasions in the accident. She was wearing a helmet at the time, Cannon said. Those seeking to help Robbs were forced to find a nearby house to report the accident because there was no access to a phone in the canyon. Robbs was taken to University Hospital in Salt Lake City by medical helicopter. Cannon said that while her injuries did not appear to be life threatening, her loss of consciousness was a concern.
