Fatal motorcycle accident in Godfrey

Four Hospitalized after Motorcycle Accident

(KTVI) The Madison County Coroner Office has released the name of a motorcyclist who died in an accident on Great River Road, Saturday night. The victim, Nathan C. Allen, 30-years-old, is from St. Clair, Missouri. Allen was declared dead at the scene, near Iroquois Trail in Godfrey, Illinois; when the motorcycle he was driving left the road, striking a guardrail and ejecting him. Filed in:

Both had a passenger on the back of the bike. Police say one motorcycle hit the trailer and the other laid the bike down. Four people were taken to the hospital. Police say three of them are in serious condition. The accident happened at about 10:45 a.m. The eastbound lanes of Platte were closed for quite a while as police investigated. Colorado Springs police tell 11 News that drivers often don't see motorcycle riders, or have trouble judging their speed and distance before turning left in front of them.

FATAL ACCIDENT_generic near 96th Street and Fitness Lane. Officers found the crash involved a Saab passenger car, a Isuzu SUV and a three-wheeled motorcycle. According to witnesses, it appears the Saab was driving westbound on 96th Street and didn't see the Isuzu stopped waiting to turn southbound onto Pinecreek Drive. The Saab rear-ended the Isuzu, pushing it into the path of the eastbound motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle was not able to avoid striking the Isuzu, police say. Fishers Police Public Information Officer Tom Weger says the two people on a motorcycle were transported to IU Health Methodist Hospital following the crash. The driver of the motorcycle, 63-year-old Nelson N. Spiegel, succumbed to his injuries early Sunday morning.
