'Serious' motorcycle accident sends one to hospital with facial, internal injuries

Police officer seriously hurt in motorcycle crash; investigation ongoing

A motorcycle accident on I-295 saw the bikes rider transported to Cooper University Medical Center with serious injuries Wednesday, according to state police. The 61-year-old rider, a Deptford Township resident, was driving his motorcycle in the left lane just north of exit 18, in West Deptford, with the vehicle in front of him ran over a piece of tire left in the road. According to state police, at 4:18 p.m., the vehicle kicked up the tire debris, which struck the motorcyclist, causing him to loose control of his vehicle. He was admitted to Cooper with facial and internal injuries. State police are withholding the mans name at this time.

Fort Covington man dies in motorcycle crash

(AP) -- Officials in eastern Montana have identified the Washington state residents killed in a motorcycle crash on U.S. Highway 12. The Rosebud County coroner's office says 57-year-old Donald Jeffrey Smith and 55-year-old Patricia Ann Smith of Ephrata, Wash., died Tuesday afternoon after their motorcycle struck a trailer being pulled by a motorcycle in front of them. The Montana Highway Patrol says the driver of the first motorcycle was slowing down to pull over. The 63-year-old driver and his 61-year-old female passenger were taken to the hospital in Forsyth. The patrol says none of the four riders was wearing a helmet.

Fatal Wednesday motorcycle Accident

KHP According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Sixty-six year old Robert Petersen of Brewster was riding a 2004 Harley-Davidson on Highway 25 south of Colby. The motorcycle left the roadway into the west ditch. Petersen was ejected from the motorcycle. He and the motorcycle came to rest in a cornfield. Peterson was transported to Logan County Hospital where he died. He was not wearing a helmet.

Triple Motorcycle Accident Kills 1, Hurts 3

One motorcycle driver was pronounced dead at the scene and two others were taken to Abington Memorial Hospital with serious injuries, officials say.
